I’m all over the place! Famous! I’m on Google!
Ok, I don’t get many hits. In fact it’s probably in the low teens. But still, if you enter my name in a Google search, you’ll get several pages of results, including this blog right here. How cool is that? For me, that is…
I’ve signed up for all kinds of blogs, as the aforementioned Google search will confirm, so the chances of people finding me now are even better than before, since all these blogs, if I choose to let them, hook me up with the big search engines. Now, in the business I’m in, that’s fine with me. The more people that know about me and what I’m up to, the better. Of course, I’ll need to keep myself up-to-date in order to keep people interested and coming back, and that’s something that I’ve been sorely lacking at.
Thus, this new entry on wordpress.com and my re-entry into the WorldWideWeb. Please check out all my blogs and my homepage and comment on them! All you’ve got to do is Google me! (In case you forgot, the name is Leon Durupt).

This is my latest recording tool. Haven’t learned how to master CDs yet, but the recording has begun. I’ve used it for live recording to get myself familiar with it first.
Hope to have some original material created using this machine very soon. Stay tuned.

The band is better than ever, the crowds are hotter than ever, the food is spicier than ever! There’s parties all weekend and specials all week and the vibe just keeps getting better.
If you live in Shekou or Nan Shan, there’s absolutely no reason to run over to the other side of town anymore, this is the place to be. Think about it, there’s French Kiss, The Terrace, McCawley’s, Xtasy, Soho, and numerous other venues in this area that can keep you hopping well into the wee hours of the morning.
If you call Futian or Luohu home, then escape to Shekou’s Seaworld. You will not regret the 20 to 30 minutes spent to get out here. The vibe is not the same as the sleepy Shekou vibe of even a year ago. It’s ramping up and this is the place to be.
See you out here soon!

This amazing blogging tool is winning me over as the best all-around blogging site in the world—EVER!!!!
No ads, plenty of built in customizable features, ability to post easily from within Firefox, Flock or even with an Mac OSX widget. Call me crazy but I think this will actually become my blog of choice, even ahead of Yahoo 360º (although I’ll have to keep that up to date for the ones who can’t keep up with all the blogs I’ve started up!)
I’ve noticed that a couple other of my blogs have shown up on Yahoo and Google searches, and WordPress offers that option as well.
All in all, it’s good to be a blogger these days.

I’m a musician, first and foremost. I want to make money doing that. So don’t fault me for doing covers and learning Chinese so that I could sing in Mandarin for the Chinese masses. I wanted to stay here, I saw that my future was here, not in Canada. And I’ve been able to make a go of it here. The new venue is open (The Terrace) and the new band is great. Hopefully it won’t be long before I can report the recording of our (my) original music and not long after that to hear about the release of our first CD.
I want to produce some young artists here, and hopefully write or co-write their music.
I want to have homes in China and Canada and travel back and forth while promoting our music in both places.
But for now, I’m working hard to make this venue a success, and going by experience in opening these places, it’s going okay. Of course, those of you that live in the area and haven’t heard our and or tried our Thai food probably don’t know what you’re missing. We treated the room with acoustic foam, bought the best sound equipment we could, and gave it everything we had to create a great live music environment. We found our Thai chefs in Hong Kong where they’d been working for the last 10 to 15 years and doing very well at that.
I’m really proud of what we’ve done over here, and like any endeavour, there’s always more to be done, more improvements, more toil. And in the end, it’s all about the music for me. I want it to be perfect but I’m willing to settle for improvement. In the end I believe it will lead to the realization of all those other dreams that I have.
